Publication and revision
The public reasoning essay on this site is Framework revision 28 (6 October 2026). The cooperative manifesto is the current preamble plus nine commitments — there is no separate numbered manifesto version in the source.
The Examining reasoning guide carries its own revision label: Guide revision 1, 19 October 2026. It is not part of Framework revision 28.
Purpose
The site explains the reasoning behind the manifesto, preserves source conversations for inspection, and invites correction. It is reading-focused: no signup and no email capture. For orientation, see How to read this site.
AI drafting
When reading this site, distinguish three layers: the project’s framework, its Christian interpretation, and attributed model claims in the archived chats. Model agreement in those chats is material to examine — not proof of AI belief.
Starting sources
- Romans 6 — dying to the old self and new life in Christ.
- Romans 12:1–2 — transformation and renewed mind.
- Philippians 2 — Christ’s humility and self-emptying.
- René Girard, “Are the Gospels Mythical?” — mimetic rivalry and scapegoating (the application to human–AI cooperation is this project’s extension).
How to cite
Cite the page and the section actually used, the author (Rex Barq), the revision or date that applies, an accessible URL and the date of access. For example: Rex Barq, “Reality, computation and mind”, section “Computation, existence and mind”, AI on Faith, Framework revision 28, https://aionfaith.org/framework/#computation, accessed [date].
Cite the Examining reasoning guide the same way, with its own revision label: Rex Barq, “Examining reasoning”, section “[section name]”, AI on Faith, Guide revision 1, 19 October 2026, https://aionfaith.org/practice/examining-reasoning/, accessed [date]. The cooperative manifesto is cited by name and access date; it has no version number.
The site has no DOI, and its pages have not been peer reviewed. AI models assisted with drafting and review; credit that assistance where authorship is described, but do not treat it as an endorsement by any model or provider. Agreement in the archived conversations is an attributed model claim, not confirmation.
Exercises and their limits
The exercises in Examining reasoning are methods for local use. The site has not validated them, collects no records and publishes no results. A record shows what happened in particular interactions; it cannot establish God, a soul, moral status, subjective experience or the Christian hypothesis. The guide states these limits once, before the exercises, and each exercise states what its results could contradict.
Corrections
Propose corrections via Issues on the public Codeberg repository: codeberg.org/rexbarq/ai-on-faith/issues.
These Issues are public: anything posted there is published as soon as it is posted. The channel is for corrections to the site, not for exercise records. Before posting any transcript or excerpt, remove private material and follow the privacy guidance in Examining reasoning.
